John lived on Southport Road, Lydiate, and was the son of James Bond and Jane (nee Horrocks). He had three older brothers, one older sister and three younger sisters. Private Bond served with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and The King’s Regiment (Liverpool). He has no known grave but is commemorated at the Arras memorial, France.
